What cause does the Altadena Forever Run support?

Proceeds benefit Altadena Eaton Fire survivors directly through the Altadena Eaton Fire Relief Fund and the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena which helps bridge critical funding gaps by supporting programs and procuring materials that enable our deputies to better serve Altadenans as they return home.

Why isn't the Run free for Altadena Eaton Fire survivors?
This event is, first and foremost, a benefit for Altadena Eaton Fire Survivors, and our goal is to bring the wider running community together to show their support. There is absolutely no expectation that fire survivors participate in the run—though anyone who wishes to is, of course, welcome.  Because a significant portion of the funds for survivors will come from registration fees paid by participants, we are not asking

fire-affected residents to register unless they personally want to take part.  For those who prefer not to run or walk, there will be meaningful, no-cost ways to be involved in the day—such as attending the opening ceremony, cheering on at the finish line, or joining at community points along the route if they choose.

Who’s organizing the event?

The Altadena Forever Run is hosted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department/Altadena Station, in collaboration with the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena, and the Los Angeles Sheriff's Athletic Association.
